Jessie Vincent was born in January 31, 1980 in St Michel de l'Attalaye. She studied drawing and painting with the famous Haitian artist Valcin II. She also studied architecture at the GOC University of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. These studies have enormously contributed to Jessie's way of understanding lines and colors and forged her artistic style. The lines and colors illustrate her sensitivity and expressive power, which is translated significantly into the core of her works. Every single dot matters to her.
Jessie is explorative. Her work illustrates a constant navigation between abstract, realism and surrealism. She goes beyond the language of brushes and acrylics to create a better world where colors, dreams, and nature meet and convey a strong message. She likes to engage in conversations with her surroundings in a flexible, timely, and contemporary way where nothing is permanent. The colors are strong and lines are behind them to bring out shapes and emotions.
